Since a legal ban on pesticides in public areas came into force on January 1, 2016, the city and village landscape in Luxembourg has changed. Spontaneous vegetation is appearing in places where many did not even suspect a potential habitat. Some people have to get used to this new image, but it is often enough to simply explain to these concerned citizens that this change will result in a healthier environment for humans and animals.

In fact, very few citizens realize that streets, sidewalks and flowerbeds as we have known them up to now have been kept so sterile and structured mostly through an intensive use of environmentally harmful and unhealthy pesticides. People's awareness and acceptance of the new, pesticide-free ideal of beauty increases proportionally with the knowledge that our environment is now more liveable for our children, pets and other wildlife.
